Thinking

So I've been thinking! I know, thinking is bad for me. Haha!Anyways, I've been doing this blog for three sold months now and I'm pretty proud of myself and how it has come together so far,but I want to make a major change. That change is, that I'm thinking of changing my blog name! Is this OK to do? Or am I thinking crazy?

1.Have I already kind of branded myself?
2.Will people get confused?

I thought of this name so quickly when I first thought this up, and now I see all these cool names and I want one. Lots of people have their name and Reads,I want to be different.

My blog address is " I Read A Story Once..." and I like that so that's in option. I also Like " Lost in Fiction" if no one has that. And "The Bookworms Hideaway"

Should I? Or shouldn't I?

  1. Three months isn't very long-- you could probably change the name. I wish I had changed mine, but by the time I got that far, it'd been five years. Good luck with whatever you decide.

  2. Crystal, I too had this dilemma when I started out. Guess what, I went ahead and changed it, from a name based (just like you) to a general one.

So I would say, Go ahead, take a chance - before you get more popular and it gets stuck :)

  3. Better to change it now than to change it later on once you have billions of followers. I ended up moving mine after a month because I decided to write with a pen name to make myself more recognizable. I can only imagine how much harder it would've been for me if I had waited.

  4. Your blog is new and if you are going to do, want to do and are unhappy..now is the time to do it. When you do make sure twitter, user name for blogger etc all tie into new blog name. Good luck!

  5. Girl, it's your blog! The most important thing is that you like the name. You are the one who spends hours working on it, posting, and making it your own. If you are unhappy with any part of it, you should fix that. Plus, anyone who is already following you will still be there, they will just see a new name. Maybe you could do a post once you decide on a new name, letting your followers know about the change so that no one is confused. Hope that helps!

  6. I really like "I Read A Story Once" and "Lost In Fiction". I've seen a few blogs change names since I've been following them. I think once you have followers, they'll stick with you and appreciate your new look! I never changed the name of my site, but I did redo my blogs look and I ended up taking screen shots of both and writing up a sort of before and after post so my followers, new and old, could see the changes up close. That way they weren't confused and I also put a poll do they could vote on which look they liked better, so that way it was a little more interactive.

  7. Do what you feel. If you need a change, you need a change. I think you will be fine. And Lost in Fiction is awesome.

Best of luck w/ everything ;)

  9. Could go either way, but if you're going to do it, three months in is much better than three years in. If you really want to, I'd say go for it! :D
