Questions???
I have a few questions lovely ones! All about giveaways.
- When did you host your first giveaway? and for what reasons?
- If you've hosted a giveaway before, how do you determine the winner? or does the program do that for you?
Thanks in advance for your answers!
BTW I just want to win giveaways LOL!!
This is what I do when I lose :(
I enter a lot of giveaways. I figured I might not won,but than again maybe I will.So it can't hurt to try!

1. I did my first giveaway a few weeks ago for making 100 followers. It will end in a few days. I have another one ending around that time too.
ReplyDelete2. I didn't want to learn how to use Rafflecopter, so I've run my two contests differently. They're not based on luck. I don't want to post the links, because I don't want to spam your blog. But you can check them out- and enter them- if you want.
Thank you so much! your post was very informative on alternate but effective ways to host giveaways!

I did my first giveaway when I had been blogging for about 6 months. I did a giveaway because an author had contacted me and asked me to review her book and host a interview & giveaway on my blog. (I was so freaking excited!) And you determine the winner through rafflecopter. I wasn't sure if i wanted to use rafflecopter cause i thought it'd be all complicated but it's not at all, I figured how to use it right away! Once the giveaway has ended, you click a button and it will randomly select the winner 4 u!

Rafflecopter sounds like a good way to host giveaways, I'm finding out that every way will have it's own negatives and positives.
DeleteSeeing that you didn't host one until six months is very helpful. I see people that have giveaways every week and ask myself "I'm I suppose too be doing it that often?"
I don't think I will be doing a giveaway for a while either.Until I establish myself as a blogger.

Sorry this was so long
1. First giveaway was in November 2011 when my blog was around 10 months old and I did it because someone approached me asking if I would host one for their product :)
ReplyDelete2. I used to use google docs and then I would use a random number generator to pick a number and then the entry that matched that number would be the winner. These days I use rafflecopter for the majority of my giveaways as it basically does everything for you. At the end of the giveaway you simply ask it to choose a winner and it does! Simples :)

I don't think I will not be doing a giveaway anytime soon.Until I've been her for a while either. I just see a lot of giveaways and on some newer bloggers and I wanted to know how they funded so many, and if this was expected for all blogs.
DeleteThanks for the advice and for stopping by :D
I haven't hosted a giveaway before but I'm thinking of having one when my blog reaches 100 followers.
ReplyDeleteI would probably use Goodreads to host the giveaway or Rafflecopter as most people use those, but like Laura, I could always use Google docs.
I love the gif, haha. I have entered so many Goodreads giveaway and I still have not won! Not one! Hopefully, I'll win one someday.
Those sound like excellent ways to host giveaways! Don't think I will be doing one in the near future, but at least now I know what to do.

I didn't have the energy to do a Rafflecopter and then I read someone's post about cheating on Rafflecopter:

Didn't want to have to deal with that.
Thanks for this post, it was very helpful. I guess people just always want to cheat systems.
DeleteWhen I do my first giveaway I will take all these comments/advice into account and come up with the best way to host a giveaway.

When did you host your first giveaway? and for what reasons?
ReplyDeleteI did my first giveaway less than a month after I first started my blog. About two weeks. I did it because I wanted to give something away and I wanted to give my blog greater exposure and gain more followers. Giveaways are an easy way for gaining new followers but not the kind that keep returning so I don't do them for that reason any more though it's a nice side effect.
If you've hosted a giveaway before, how do you determine the win? or does the program do that for you?
I use random.org to pick a winner. You just put 1 and the amount of entries and then hit a button and whatever number it gives back is the winner.
For giveaways I also suggest putting a disclaimer letting people know that you aren't responsible for prizes that get lost or damaged in the mail during shipping.
